Hi, I'm Emily — and caring for women over 50 is my calling. Here's why:
I've spent my entire career-as an ER nurse and yoga teacher-dedicated to this age group. It's the community I know best and love most.
My own mom, Margaret, has been coming to my yoga classes for five years and is a member of the Academy — watching her grow stronger and more confident has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
And my grandmother Patty, a tough-as-nails farm girl in her 80s, started chair yoga after losing my grandfather and comes to class twice a week. She tells me her balance and strength are better now than they were years ago.
These women — and so many others I've had the privilege of caring for — are exactly why I do this work.
As a registered nurse with nearly 20 years in healthcare — most of them spent in the emergency room — I've seen firsthand how much daily movement shapes the quality of your life as you age.
But at 33, I experienced that reality myself. A traumatic injury left me with a broken back, hip, and arm. I couldn't walk, dress myself, or manage basic daily tasks without help from my husband and mom.
It was humbling, life-changing, and it gave me a completely new perspective on what it means to feel safe and supported in your body.
That's why I'm so passionate about helping women stay strong, active, and independent as they age...
