What's Your Superpower? π¦ΈββοΈ

A Letter from the Bulletin Editor
As a side gig, I'm the bulletin editor for St. Francis Xavier Parish, here in Moundsville, WV. I love sharing stories that are heartfelt and inspiring. This is an article I wrote for Sunday, Feb. 15-just before Easter time.
I hope you enjoy. βΊοΈ
My husband and I have been watching the Winter Olympics, and we’re amazed at athletes flying through the air and skating at breathtaking speeds. They almost seem superhuman.
But while most of us won’t be attempting quad jumps or racing down snowy slopes at 90 miles an hour, I believe we each carry our own superpower.
As a nurse, I’ve had a front-row seat to everyday heroes — a young woman paralyzed in her twenties who went on to raise two children, run a business and even drove. A dear friend and fellow emergency room nurse who, at age 30, while undergoing breast cancer treatment, became a flight nurse-caring for critically ill patients in the ER and in the skies.
These are the kinds of superpowers that don’t make headlines. Extraordinary people who quietly operate behind the scenes.
And I see them in you, too.
If you are providing for your family, showing up to work day in and day out, offering kindness to those who need it the most, tending to your own health or your loved one’s, or simply getting out of bed on a hard day — that is strength.
That is courage.
That makes you a superhuman.
As we enter the Easter season, we are invited into quiet sacrifice and small daily acts of love. This time reminds us that the heroes around us often look ordinary — and that God works powerfully through simple, faithful hearts.
Don't stop.
Keep love in your heart, and you'll never walk alone.
Take good care.
